Has your heart become cold over time, my friend? Has this text not warmed your spirit? Why, the value of these words could not be counted by all the countless years of time that has gone by, are going by, and will go by forever to come.
"Weak text" degrades this work far more than you would think possible. I know such a simple reply from a simple minded individual, trudging through your various day to day activities wouldn't find a note of anything wrong with this. Finding it to be quite infallible... But I beg to differ and I believe you owe Miss Manda a comprehensive outline of what you found so troubling about this piece other than a laughable "Weak text"
We are all brothers and sisters of this earth, if we cannot express out feelings to our family, how will we resolve the larger conflicts down the road? Please, find it in your hear to express yourself to the fullest about this beautifully drawn and written piece of art. Thank you.
Am I supposed to say I am sorry I'm not the "wow" type?
What I am sorry for is how your watchers look at my comments, are people on DA so used to "oh wow, this is so cool" that the word "weak" makes them wince?
Well here's why I think it's weak.
When I first look at the text, I instantly have to compare it to the background. Why? Well because the background has a stronger impact, even though you used bright colors in the foreground, the background has a materialistic feeling, a real-life almost-touchable feeling, this gives it more impact.
Now, what about the background that makes the text look weak?
Here it comes..
1. color the background's color is up to date. Retro is in, it's a fact. Texture is still in. However this type of texture is last years graphic design trend, but alot of young ones like yourself still use it, but the text color is so 3 years ago. I am sorry, but that is the fact of the matter.
2. shape the background stars are bulky, they have a strong weight.. I called your background "brilliant" because it has a pattern. Pattern is good. And the weight of your stars is good too, I don't know why but it looks good.. Perhaps because of the bulkiness, it makes them look strong, in your face, not afraid, I'll say this might represent you. Your text, however, is thin and lean.. It doesn't represent the bulkiness of the background and therefore it clashes with it. Some designers can get away with this by making it look so different that the contrast is what makes it stand out.. Your design however doesn't have that.. You have great potential though.
The letters themselves are also weak because they look like a derivation from Arial. Arial is the most used and abused font in the word, if it's in an artwork (or something that looks very similar to Arial, like yours) it will weaken it.. Very few people can use this kind of font and get away with it.
When I gave you the one line comment I was stating my opinion.. You should not have taken it negatively. Only with honest opinions does one become better.. I'm sorry to say I'll never comment on your work again, simply because you do not appreciate my honesty, and neither did your watchers.
Definitely was not asking for an apology, I see no point in stating a negative opinion without giving advice as to how one can better their work. I appreciate this far more, because I UNDERSTAND your dislike, and I can see how I can improve. I do disagree with the colour part, as I chose colours I like, I didn't chose those colours to follow 'trends' -- thank you, however, for giving constructive criticism. I appreciate that.
"I'm sorry to say I'll never comment on your work again, simply because you do not appreciate my honesty" -- I did not appreciate the way you went about it, no, of course not. The second time around was far more appreciated.
